Many businesses, organizations (churches) and artists are aware of the importance of social media, whether that is Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Snapchat, YouTube or . . . The unfortunate thing is far too many are not seeing any results from Social Media, if that is selling a product or service or getting “butts in seats” as many churches refer to it.
Here are a few common problems that might need addressing:
- You missed the first half of Social Media – This type of platform is SOCIAL. It’s not a monologue. It isn’t a blog or website. It is social. You need to respond and dialogue with your visitors. I know, sounds a bit crazy, a bit too much work.
- You missed the goal of Social Media – Other than individuals, social media has a goal other than “here’s what I’m doing right now.” Really? What is that? Here are some of the common goals I hear. “I was to sell my product”, “I want to book more clients”, and “I want more people to visit my church or business.” All great goals but not the function of social media. For businesses and organizations, the goal is to drive people to your website. Doing or soliciting business on social media is like going to a party and handing out business cards. Wrong place, wrong time.
It all sounds so simple, right?
Creating content, managing what to post and when to post it, responding quickly to visitors – these are all things that take expertise and time.
