Norco Choirs Logo 2018

New Logo for Norco High School Choirs

Screen Shot 2018-07-13 at 11.46.05 AMNorco High School Choirs gets a new logo.

Last year, Norco High School got a new choir director. With the change in leadership they needed a new identity for their choirs.

The director wanted music notes included, in addition to something that looked elegant and would serve as a branding mark for the choir program.

This new branding identity will be displayed on all future wearables and marketing materials.

In creating successful logos we look to keep that as simple as possible, all the while making them memorable. You don’t have to include every aspect of your program, organization or business into your logo.  Clutter is not a good thing.  Simple & memorable.

Another very important factor is scalability.  The logo should keep its integrity whether large or small, whether on a shirt or on stationary, or fitting as a profile image on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, etc.

Below you will see a some of the wearables that Norco Choirs will be making available this season.  There are more spirit items that will be announced soon, including stickers and magnets.

In addition to this new Norco Choir logo, we are currently working on two other new logos, for two different organizations, that we will be announcing soon.

Why I Taught Myself to Procrastinate by Adam Grant

NORMALLY, I would have finished this column weeks ago. But I kept putting it off because my New Year’s resolution is to procrastinate more.

I guess I owe you an explanation. Sooner or later.

We think of procrastination as a curse. Over 80 percent of college students are plagued by procrastination, requiring epic all-nighters to finish papers and prepare for tests. Roughly 20 percent of adults report being chronic procrastinators. We can only guess how much higher the estimate would be if more of them got around to filling out the survey.

But while procrastination is a vice for productivity, I’ve learned — against my natural inclinations — that it’s a virtue for creativity.

For years, I believed that anything worth doing was worth doing early. In graduate school I submitted my dissertation two years in advance. In college, I wrote my papers weeks early and finished my thesis four months before the due date. My roommates joked that I had a productive form of obsessive-compulsive disorder. Psychologists have coined a term for my condition: pre-crastination.

Pre-crastination is the urge to start a task immediately and finish it as soon as possible. If you’re a serious pre-crastinator, progress is like oxygen and postponement is agony. When a flurry of emails land in your inbox and you don’t answer them instantly, you feel as if your life is spinning out of control. When you have a speech to give next month, each day you don’t work on it brings a creeping sense of emptiness, like a dementor is sucking the joy from the air around you (look it up — now!). SEO Drive Traffic

How Do I Get More Traffic?

SEO Drive Traffic“How do I get more traffic” to my website, blog, or other social media page, is probably one of the most common questions I receive.

To be perfectly honest, a vast majority of these people want, and expect, a quick, DIY solution. But there isn’t such a thing. It’s complicated, fluid and time consuming. The vast majority of successful websites, blogs and social media profiles have either full-time, on-staff professionals or hire outside firms, like 3 Penguins Design, to employee hundreds of different techniques to drive traffic to it’s intended destination. It truly isn’t a DIY action.

A frequent mistake is to assume that online marketing, SEO, SEM, etc., is a science. It’s not. It’s a art. Search engines constantly change their rules of engagement. What worked yesterday may not work tomorrow. It’s is definitely not and BUILD IT AND THEY WILL COME type of thing.

What I mean is, it’s not like a car where you build it and drive it. With online marketing you are constantly modifying, changing, trying new things and discarding those that don’t work.

Here are a few things that we consider with every client:

  • Content, Content, Contect
  • Enhance with Multimedia
  • Be Social
  • Link Building – Guest Posting
  • SEO (search engine optimization)
  • E-books and Freebies
  • Offline Ideas

You are the expert in your field. We are the experts in our field. Together we can grow your traffic.

Church Media Page (Online Sermons) Graphic

Effective and clear communication in both written and graphical forms is essential for websites & blogs.  Visitors don’t stay around long enough to search through the vastness that engulfs many online sites today.

These final four graphics where design for a church media page, specifically for their online sermons.  The graphic was necessary, not only to identify the page for visitors but for a graphic that will embed into social media posts.

Colors came from branded color palette.
